Performance with children: Black beast
A performance event with dance, voice and drawing.
A large white sheet of paper is the dance floor. The abstract, rhythmic dialogue between dancer and musician merges into black charcoal traces. The floor fills up with scratches, etchings, delicate curls, that reveal the energy, the movement, the sound. Slowly the players retreat and the children are invited to.....................
The musical dialogue is transformed into an interactive play with the audience.
The white sheet becomes full.
Everything becomes black.
Working with children involves the adults too, but gives children their own space.
A space to make their own decisions in what is possible, what is allowed, what is beautiful or ugly.
Both the workshop and the performance are 'with' children, not 'for' children.
